Question 6:
My most popular pages seem to be my "favorite things" and "career goals" which are both tied for most page views within my blog site.
I used a section within Google Analytics called "In-Page Analytics" where Google determined that both pages had 24% of all page views(each).
So I put some thought into why these pages we're more popular than others! It is fair to say that what our blog post's have consisted of thus far haven't been particularly exciting other than these two topics!
Everybody wants to know other peoples likes/dislikes, short term goals, long term goals, career goals, personal goals etc.
Personally, I found reading my classmates posts about these two topics to quite interesting. I learned some things about people I haven't even met before which puts on a nice impression. It is also nice to find commonalities with other people within the same age group and business program!

Question 7:
My least popular page is my most recent one, "What I learned about Google Analytics". This doesn't surprise me because, for one, it is very recent. Also, it is a topic that doesn't exactly catch viewers attention and make them want to see my opinion or thoughts on a program that they have used for the same time period as I have.

Question 5:
Where in the world are my blog viewers?

The majority of my views thus far have come from Oakville and Cooksville. I also have viewers from Burlington, Guelph, Toronto, Erin, Mississauga, Calgary, and 1 viewer from Amsterdam!! (pretty cool)

Where is the most unexpected location you have seen under your Google Analytics???

What I've learned about Google Analytics

At first, I thought GA was just a very simple and straight forward analysing program that would display page views and comments on my blog.
Today, we've all learned that it is much more than that! We are given access to a whole bunch of valuable information that can be interpreted and used for many different purposes. Whether it be for a website for a business you have started or just a simple blog that you want to share with other web surfers.

Feeling of Flight

I stumbled upon a video on YouTube with Harrison Ford doing an interview while flying one his few airplanes.
He mentioned a phrase or sentence that stuck with me which describes how flying makes him feel.
It is so accurate! And I could not think of a more appropriate way to describe it!

"Up here, I don't think about much except for flying. What my duties and responsibilities are. Everything else just falls away. That is very restful for me."
"Great freedom, great responsibility. The mix of the two is what I enjoy."

Favorite Things

Here is an interesting topic!

My favorite things! ...There is a combination of objects and activities etc.

(in no particular order):

- I really enjoy listening to music. I think most people would agree that it is sort of an alone time or period of reflection, which is important to me!
- I love to play hockey! The best sport in the world! ...But it is very very stressful to be a Leafs fan.
- My family is very special to me. We've endured many hardships over the past 10 years, yet we still stand strong with one another! I wouldn't be the person I am today without my big brothers as my role models and two loving and supportive parents. Also a shout out to all my extended family is who are also so wonderful!!
- FRIENDS! I am very happy with the friends that I've grown up with from kindergarten and all my new friends from Sheridan! Over the course of my 21 years, I have had the privilege of becoming friends with so many amazing people. I appreciate them very very much!
- And, of course, Aviation stuff. Yes, surprise surprise! But, aviation is my thing, my escape and inner peace. I have a great description for the kind of feeling that flying gives me. I will share that on another post!
- Speaking of aviation, TRAVEL, is a big plus for me. I have yet to explore many places on this planet but I will not rest until I have seen our planet earth! (partial reason why I am training to become an international airline pilot) free travel ;D
- Gotta love my iPhone. It hasn't had any problems....yet. So for now it will be on my favorites list!
- I love animals! Mainly dogs. I grew up with a couple dogs in my household and it was a very special period of time.
- Partying. It doesn't necessarily mean that I need to get obliterated. I am bartender at Sheridan Oakville's "The Marquee", and I really enjoy the atmosphere and some* of the music. But it is usually the best when you're out for drinks with your pals!

That is all for now!

Please leave a comment!! and stay tuned!!

Sincerely,
E.

My Career Goals

A little blog about my career goals...

As I mentioned previously, I will be a Sheridan graduate with a Business Marketing Diploma after this coming April!
My long term career goal is not to be a sales representative or a marketing department manager but it is to be an airline pilot. This is something I have wanted since I was a child and during my first year at Sheridan, I realized that I needed to chase my dreams and it was actually very possible. If anyone knows anything about learning to fly airplanes, they know that it is extremely expensive to do! I had two routes out of high school to pursue my passion in flight. One was to go to college for an aviation and flight degree OR join the Canadian Forces OR learn to fly independently through flight schools at local airports.
In high school I was not an A+ student and unfortunately, that is required to be accepted into a post-secondary program or to join the Forces. I was left with two options: (1) go back to high school and complete 6+ required courses consisting of calculus and vectors, advanced functions, university chemistry, university physics and a few others to earn a spot in very competitive aviation programs at various colleges. These programs set you up for getting a job as a flight instructor within 4 years of starting their program. Option (2) was to learn to fly at flight school at a particular airport and expect to be training for up to 10 years (depending on how much I can afford at any given season).
So, why earn a business diploma? Well, I plan to earn all my training funds for flight from obtaining a job with my diploma. Unless I were to be blessed by a winning lottery ticket, this is the only realistic route to my dream career. I am expecting to be at international airline standards in 8 years from today and will have a minimum 1000 hours in the air and will likely have spent up to $50,000 for my training. It is a long and tedious road but it will be worth every minute and every penny!
I am currently within 30 days of completing my first* pilot license, which is very exciting! What an extraordinary experience it has been so far!!
If this subject intrigues you guys, I will blog all about it this semester! I can answer questions, comments and share some cool things about my flying lessons and experiences.
On YouTube, I have a channel for all my flight videos (if you want to get a visual perspective on learning to fly airplanes)
Search: AviationSpot (exactly as it is spelled here) ENJOY!!

I really enjoy everything about aviation, so if you happen to be an aviation dork like me, leave me some comments!!
